Walter Rouse started his college football career playing for the Stanford Cardinal and was the offensive tackle for his team. Rouse played for four seasons with the Cardinal before switching to Oklahoma to spend his final year of college eligibility. He is a powerful run-blocker who is also flexible and mobile. Rouse also has the strength to hold against the bull rush and can block on the move. Rouse is projected to get drafted in the 5th-7th round of the 2024 draft.

Rouse kicked off his true freshman season playing for the Stanford Cardinal and he played in 12 games in which he started for 11. The following season in 2020, Rouse started for all 6 games and in the 2021 season, he played and started for 12 games. In his final season with the Cardinal, Rouse played 10 games and for his performance in the 2022 season, he was also named as an honorable mention All-Pac 12.

After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Rouse decided to switch teams and play for the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2023, Rouse played and started for all 12 games where he was again named as an honorable mention all-Pac 12.

Rouse originally had to give up his dream of finishing his biomechanical engineering degree when he decided to leave Stanford to play for Oklahoma according to OUdaily. Rouse also mentioned that the academics part at Stanford is what he gave the most priority to. After transferring to Oklahoma, Rouse was more focused on the athletics side than the academics.

Rouse was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States and attended Sidwell Friends School. He was a three-star recruit who committed to play his college football for Stanford.
