When Nick returned to the Montreal Canadiens, he played a significant role during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He also performed well during the 2020-21 season; he played 56 games and finished the season with 15 goals and 41 points. In September 20222, Nick became the captain of the Montreal Canadiens at the age of 23.
