Mitch Marner is a Canadian ice hockey professional right winger and alternative captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL. The Maple Leafs selected him as the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. He started his hockey journey with the 3 Zones Hockey School, attended the Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario, and later went to Blyth Academy. He played minor hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League with the Vaughan Kings where he secured the GTHL title in the 2011-2012 season. He slowly excelled there and in the 2012-2013 season, Marner scored 86 points in 55 games.

He got a scholarship from the University of Michigan yet decided to play in the OHL with the London Knights. In his sophomore year, Marner earned OHL First All-Star honors and the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy for his exceptional performance. Marner continued his impact in the OHL by winning the Championship and the Memorial Cup in 2016. On July 28, 2015, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs after his selection in the 2015 NHL Entry draft.
