Nathan MacKinnon is a Canadian ice hockey center and alternate captain for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League. He was drafted first overall by the Avalanche in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. MacKinnon became the youngest player in Avalanche history to debut in a regular-season game.

MacKinnon won the Calder Memorial Trophy and was also named to the All-Rookie Team. The following season, he became the youngest player to ever record a hat trick for the Avalanche.
