Last Modified Nov 8, 2023 09:48 GMT

Ryan Reaves is a Canadian ice hockey player. He began playing hockey at a young age and was a standout player for the Winnipeg South Monarchs minor ice hockey team. He also played football growing up, but after tearing his posterior cruciate ligament during a hockey tournament, he was forced to forfeit football as a sport.

Reaves was drafted 156th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 2010-11 season and played seven seasons for the Blues, recording 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists) in games. Ryan Reaves was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017, where he played for one season and recorded 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 58 games. In 2018, Reaves was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft. He played for the Golden Knights for four seasons, recording 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) in 209 games. Reaves was traded to the New York Rangers in 2021, where he played for two seasons and recorded 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in 81 games.

In 2022, Reaves was traded to the Minnesota Wild, where he played for one season and recorded 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) in 61 games. Ryan Reaves signed a three-year, $4.05 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1, 2023, after exploring his options on the free-agent market.

Ryan Reaves Kids

Ryan Reaves has two kids: a 6-year-old son named Kanen and a 3-year-old daughter named Kamilla. Ryan Reaves' kids, Kanen and Kamilla, are his escape from the real world and the stress of his high-stakes job. He says that when he comes home from work if something is bothering him, he sees his kids, he forgets about everything, and hangs out with them.

At this age, Kanen and Kamilla are also beginning to play sports of their own and have a better understanding of what their dad works. Reaves says that the best part is seeing his kids at games, wearing his jersey and cheering. He loves receiving videos from his wife after games of his kids cheering him on or singing the Rangers' "Goal" song anytime anybody scores. He knows that these moments don't last forever in his profession, so he cherishes them.
