Hunter Wohler is an American football safety who announced his return to the Badges for his final year of college in 2024. He attended the Muskego High School in his hometown Muskego where he showcased his prowess as an extraordinary defensive back. During his varsity years, Wohler took several awards like Jim Leonhard Award, two-time Wisconsin Player of the Year and not to mention the 2021 recipient of the Gatorade Player of the Year in Wisconsin. Wohler concluded his high school career with 355 tackles and 11 receptions, including 78 tackles, two receptions and one forced fumble in his senior year.
The Muskego prodigy embarked on his collegiate football journey with Wisconsin Badgers in 2021. In his first season as a true freshman, Wohler saw action in all 13 games recording 17 tackles and a sack. Despite an injury to his left leg in his sophomore year, Wohler managed to contribute in six games, making six tackles and one interception. Last season during his true junior year, the former four-star recruit earned All-Big Ten honors after amassing 113 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two interceptions in the Badges defense.
After leading UW in tackles during the 2023 season, Wohler is set to return to the Badgers for his senior season. The Wisconsin safety was the highest-graded player in the defense with an overall grade of 82.7.
