Steve Sarkisian is a college football coach and has been appointed as the head coach for the Texas Longhorns Football Team since January 2021. Sarkisian has coached many elite players throughout his college football and NFL coaching career. As the offensive coordinator at Alabama, Sarkisian worked alongside several of college football's biggest stars, including wide receiver DeVonta Smith who won the Heisman Trophy. He coached the quarterback Mac Jones and the running back Najee Harris, who were the key contributors to Alabama's 2020 National Championship season. Steve Sarkisian had a historic season in 2023 for the Texas Longhorns. His team secured a 12-2 record and won their first Big 12 Championship since 2009. Sarkisian secured the program’s first-ever College Football Playoff semi-finals appearance. The Longhorns finished the season with a No. 3 ranking as per the Associated Press Poll, which happened after 15 years. They ranked in the top 15 nationally for both, scoring offense with 35.8 points per game and defense with 18.9 points per game. Sarkisian’s team finished ninth in total offense, third in rushing defense, and second in passing efficiency.
