17:52 PM IST|| That is all we have in this live coverage of the BBL game. This is Samanvaya Sharma signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Arya, as we take your leave now. See you back with another exciting cricketing action. Till then goodbye!
Caleb Jewell (Player of the Match): That was really hard to watch in the end but we have some great finishers. I just tried to take a few risks early and got lucky. Nikhil batted superbly. Yeah I mean we have chased a lot of games this year. We have got some good death batters and yes they did the job. Yeah very good, the crowd has been rolling out for us. Yeah very happy for Matthew Wade. Off to Melbourne, looking forward to that.
17:42 PM IST|| Match Summary|| Hobart Hurricanes won by 5 wickets.
The Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and elected to bowl first, inviting the Brisbane Heat to bat at the Gabba stadium. Debutant Marcus Bean made an immediate impact, dismissing Nathan McSweeney in the second over. Bean's outswings caused trouble for the Heat batters, restricting them to 43/2 by the end of the powerplay.
A crucial 68-run partnership between Matt Renshaw and Marnus Labuschagne stabilized the innings. However, Renshaw's dismissal before the drinks break slowed the Heat's momentum. Labuschagne anchored the innings, scoring a vital fifty and adding 85 runs with Tom Alsop. The Heat ultimately reached 201/6, thanks largely to Labuschagne's impressive knock.
The Hobart Hurricanes' bowling unit was led by skipper Nathan Ellis, who took three wickets. Conversely, Riley Meredith had a challenging day, conceding 57 runs without taking a wicket.
In response, the Hobart Hurricanes began aggressively, with Caleb Jewell and Mitchell Owen scoring 17 runs in the first over. The Hurricanes reached 47/0 by the end of the powerplay but faced a brief interruption due to a small fire in the stadium.
Spencer Johnson broke the 80-run partnership between Owen and Jewell, dismissing Owen in the seventh over. Mitchell Swepson soon removed Charlie Wakim, leaving the Hurricanes at 97/2. Caleb Jewell reached his fifty in the 13th over, but the power surge yielded only 14 runs and two wickets, including Jewell's.
With 11 runs required in the final over, Matthew Wade sealed the thriller for the Hobart Hurricanes. The Brisbane Heat's playoff qualification chances became increasingly complex.
Spencer Johnson took three wickets for the Heat, but his efforts were ultimately unsuccessful in preventing the Hurricanes' victory.

19.6 Xavier Bartlett to Matthew Wade, SIX! Wade finishes it off in style. A pace on low full toss on the pads, whipped away from his presence with utter disdain and sends it over the backward square leg fence. Hobart Hurricanes win by 5 wickets.
Scores are level now and 1 run needed from 1 ball is all we are down to
19.5 Xavier Bartlett to Jake Doran, slower on a good-length a shade outside off, Doran tries to slash it away towards point, doesn't make any contact but somehow manages to steal a bye single.
2 needed from 2 balls now. Who will have the last laugh?
19.4 Xavier Bartlett to Jake Doran, on a length a shade outside off, Doran stays in his crease and laps it just over the keeper's head and competes a couple.
19.3 Xavier Bartlett to Jake Doran, FOUR! That's an important boundary for Hurricanes and Doran. A slower leg cutter around the middle stump, Doran makes some room and swings across the line, gets a thick outside edge and finds the boundary past short third man.
Game of nerves now for both these sides
19.2 Xavier Bartlett to Matthew Wade, slower on a good-length outside off, Wade swipes it across the line, down towards the widish long-on region, Wade wanted the brace but Doran wasn't quite sure and once he hesitated the second run wasn't on.
19.1 Xavier Bartlett to Matthew Wade, slower back of a length delivery a shade outside off, a mistimed pull down towards the long-on region, exceptional running from Wade, dives full stretched to come back for a brace.
11 required off the final over now and Xavier Bartlett will bowl it

18.6 Spencer Johnson to Jake Doran, Doran makes some room and Johnson follows him, works it away towards the deep square leg and scampers back for a brace. 11 required off the final over.
Jake Doran, LHB comes to the crease
18.5 Spencer Johnson to Tim David, WICKET! That's an exceptional catch from Mitchell Swepson and the bouncer ploy works. A pace on bumper directed at the body of David, was way too good for his liking, was a bit late on the pull and ends up getting a top edge, Swepson at short fine leg had to cover a significant amount of ground and gets his fingers around the ball. Could be a huge moment in the game.

18.4 Spencer Johnson to Tim David, yorker-length delivery a shade outside off, David clears his front leg and tries to slam this down the ground, gets beaten.
18.3 Spencer Johnson to Tim David, fuller-length delivery around the middle stump channel, drilled down the ground showing the full face of the bat, down towards the long-off fielder and comes back for a brace.
