Jake Fraser McGurk was the man today to unleash havoc against the Heat and anchored the larger part of the innings. Brisbane Heat did not have any answers to McGurk's firepower hitting with his ability to create room even on what would otherwise be good deliveries. With this win, the Renegades have given their side a chance, however much depends on the result of the other two league games. They have moved among the teams qualifying for the playoffs but for how long, let's see.

Josh Brown gave a good start to his side with his offensive against the the Heat's frontline attack in the powerplay alongside Jake Fraser McGurk. The Heat bowlers were clueless against the youngster as he kept smacking outside the fence every now and then. Following, Brown's departure, one of the two debutants, Oliver Peake stood on one end and kept rotating strike to provide support to Jake. McGurk stood tall even as Spencer sent both Peake and Tim Seifert back to the pavilion on back-to-back deliveries.

Although, the Heat were able to dismiss McGurk but only after he dented their playoffs hopes. When he departed, the hosts required 16 runs from 21 balls. Will Sutherland also departed later in the over but the next two lower-order batters chased the target with two overs remaining to cruise the team in the red across the line.
