Hayley Matthews (Player of the Match, Mumbai Indians): I think it was a good game. As a batter, you get value for the shots here. Had a good partnership with Nat and with the ball executed the plans well. I think it was one of the wickets you were able to put the ball away against different bowlers and manipulate the fields as well. I tried to control one side of the field and vary the pace. It is something I was working on. Took a lot of learning from the last game from GG. Just come back, do our homework on DC, and have got the better of us in the last two games. Come back on the ground and execute our plans well

Harmanpreet Kaur (captain, Mumbai Indians): Really happy with the way we played. Before the game, I wanted to bat first but as a unit, we wanted to chase. Whatever happened, happened well. Hayley and Nat batted really well. I think they are great players, they know how to play these games. We don't need to tell them how to go about it. I think in bowling we did well, we wanted to do well in that department and that is what we wanted to do in the last two games. We need to sit and take stock of what went well for us. They are kind and they listen to what I say

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, Mumbai Indians: She's (Charlotte Edwards, coach) got great experience, but the best thing about her is that she gets everyone around and makes them feel comfortable. That's contributed to a great team ethos and vibe around the group. You need experienced players to stand up in these pressure games, that happened today. Not really sure what I've done differently. The wickets are good, the outfield are quick, that plays into batters' hands. My strengths are hitting powerfully around the ground, that allows me to move the fielders around. We wouldn't have minded what to do at the toss either, we would have bowled as well. To put runs on the board in a knockout match is a great way to go about. We can take confidence for that going into the final.

Ashleigh Gardner, Gujarat Giants captain: Wasn't to be today. This group's got a lot to be proud of. So many positives have come out this tournament. Different people have stood up at different times, an absolute pleasure to lead this group. Pleasure to lead this side, some youngsters who will be shining bright among the group. That's what the tournament is all about. Just said let's not get overawed by the experience, this side hasn't been in the final, just embrace those nerves. Lot of excitement coming into this game. Today wasn't to be, we didn't do all three facets. We missed opportunities, and we fell short with the bat. Not ideal losing someone so important (Dottin), pretty much like-for-like. Gibbo's a type of personality who'd take the challenge head-on. She didn't think she'd be opening and bowling four overs this morning. Hope Diddo's okay, haven't heard too much about it, heard she's hurt her knee. Hopefully we're training in the right direction. Was nice to get some wins on the board and play in front of a home crowd. Hope people can see the talent in our squad. Awesome to be a part of a franchise which has grown over the last three years.

Purple Cap holder gets the wicket as the Orange Cap holder holds onto the catch. Mumbai Indians win the match and seal the date for the finals against Delhi Capitals. This has been a statement win to show the Delhi Capitals that they can comprehensively seal the deal and are on the prowl to try and lay their hands again on the trophy. Kudos to Gujarat Giants, after finishing last twice in the last two seasons, have shown a good fight and will be looking for a change of fortunes next season.

Gujarat Giants had a poor start to the chase, with Beth Mooney walking back to the pavilion in the very first over. Harleen Deol and GG's latest opener, Danielle Gibson, put together 34 runs before Deol and then skipper Ashleigh Gardner lost wickets in quick succession. Running between the wickets was as poor as it could get for them, with three runouts in the innings. Bharti Fulmali, Phoebe Litchfield, and Simran Shaikh tried hard but then the target was a bit too daunting and they succumbed to scoreboard pressure.

Mumbai Indians bowled really well and they managed wickets at regular intervals, which hurt the opposition big time. Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr were in a constant tussle for the acquisition of the Purple Cap. Matthews, with the wicket of Meghna Singh, managed to retain the honor while Kerr picked up two wickets in the contest. Shabnim Ismail and Nat Sciver-Brunt picked up a wicket each while the fielding unit and Yastika Bhatia managed to execute three run-outs successfully.

The purple and orange cap-holders combine to thump that final nail in the coffin, and the Mumbai Indians, by virtue of their 47-run win tonight, head into their second WPL final! Tossed on a length around leg stump, Meghna ran down the wicket and looked to hoick it over cow corner. She got a lot of height on it but not nearly enough distance. Sciver-Brunt ran in and accepted the catching opportunity with glee!
