Christian Haynes is an American football offensive guard who has graduated from the University of Connecticut with a major in Human Development and Family Sciences. The 6-foot-2, 313-pound Bowie native attended the Bowie High School in his hometown.

Haynes was a modest two-star recruit coming out of the class of 2018 by 247Sports and was an extremely talented linesman. He was a two-time captain and was honoured with the team MVP in his senior season.

Haynes embarked on his collegiate football journey with the UConn Huskies over offers from Virginia, Buffalo, Air Force, Navy, FIU and few others. He joined the program in 2018 as a project player but played in two games during his redshirt season, registering 60 snaps with one quarterback hurry and one pressure, thus holding onto his redshirt status

As a freshman in 2019, Haynes became a full-time starter for the Huskies in the offensive line and started all 12 games in the right guard position. Since the start of the 2019 season, UConn has played 47 games and Haynes participated in every one of them.

The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Haynes earned an extra year of eligibility. Like 2019, he managed to start all 12 games on the offensive line for the Huskies in 2021. He witnessed his best season as a junior in 2022 where he allowed only three pressures and no sacks in 348 pass-block snaps.

Haynes continued his momentum in his senior and final season for UConn Huskies starting all 12 games in the guard position. He led the Huskies offensive line that allowed just 12 sacks on the season. In his entire career with the Huskies, Haynes amassed a whopping 3,319 snaps and only allowed eight sacks, six quarterback hits, and 48 pressures.

Many might consider him undersized compared to an average NFL guard but he has showcased a blend of technical skill and football IQ that sets him apart. Haynes earned Associated Press third-team All-American honors in both 2022 and 2023. His solid collegiate career gives a solid foundation for his potential success at the professional level and is one of the hottest players entering the 2024 NFL draft.
