American football defensive tackle Jeffery Bernard Simmons Jr. plays for the Tennessee Titans as of September 2024. He was a first-round pick (19th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He started seven games in his nine appearances in his rookie year. Becoming a starter the following year, Simmons started all 15 games he played recording 49 total and 24 solo tackles. His career-high numbers came in the 2021 season as he started in all 17 contributing for 54 total and 42 solo tackles. In his five years with the Titans, Simmons has appeared in 68 games and recorded 233 total tackles, as of 2023. Simmons is a two-time Pro Bowl (2021, 2022) as he enters his sixth season in the NFL in 2024.

Growing up in Mississippi, Simmons attended Noxubee County High School. He was rated as the no. 2 defensive tackle nationally and the no. 1 player in the state of Mississippi by Scout. Simmons was a five-star prospect who chose to attend Mississippi State University playing for the Bulldogs. Simmons over three seasons in the college, appeared in 37 games recording 160 total and 59 solo tackles. He had a break-out 2018 season, where he made it to Second-Team All-American (The Athletic), Third-Team All-American (AP), First-Team All-SEC (AP, Coaches) and ESPN All-Bowl Team in 2018.
