Joshua Dobbs, better known in the NFL as Josh Dobbs has a unique story to tell. The current QB1 for the Minnesota Vikings in the wake of a season-ending injury to Kirk Cousins has been tasked with learning 5 different playbooks in less than a year. Having had to jump from one team to another, Dobbs’ NFL journey has been unstable till now.

Dobbs, who was born in Alpharetta, Georgia on January 26, 1995, had two dreams while growing up. First, he wanted to become a quarterback in the NFL and second, he wanted to pursue his passion for space. Today, it is safe to say that he has managed to fulfill both of his dreams and at the moment it looks like he has found his footing in the NFL.

Until the start of the 2023 NFL season, Dobbs did not have much game time since his entry into the league in 2017. All that changed when the Arizona Cardinals made him their starting quarterback for the first 8 games of the season as Kyler Murray was still recovering from his injury.

Even though the Cardinals' record was a dismal 1-7, Dobbs had done enough to impress the Vikings who acquired him as the replacement for Cousins. Now, it remains to be seen whether Dobbs can make the most of this opportunity and cash in on his performances.

Josh Dobbs Trade

The Minnesota Vikings traded a sixth-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for Josh Dobbs and a conditional seventh-round pick. Looking at the trade which took place between the two NFC teams, it looks like the Vikings have gotten the better end of the stick.

To lose a sixth-round pick for a quarterback and that too for someone who has played all 8 games this season, it seems that the Vikings have come away with a better deal. Even though Dobbs managed to lead the Cardinals to only one victory in his 8 starts this year, he has shown great capability and the Vikings believe they have the best possible chance of progressing this season with Dobbs at the helm.
