Younghoe Koo is a South Korean-American football placekicker for the Atlanta Falcons as of the 2024 NFL season. After going undrafted during the 2017 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent. That same year, he was waived by the team in Week 4 of the 2017 season. In 2019, he was signed to the New England Patriots’ practice squad but was later released. He then signed with the Falcons in October of that year. In 2022, he signed a five-year contract extension with the team worth $24.25 million.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Koo moved to the United States, where he played football at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, New Jersey. After finishing high school, he committed to playing college football at Georgia Southern University.
