Sam Reinhart is a Canadian professional hockey player for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, Reinhart was drafted second overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres and played with Sabres before his eventual trade to the Panthers in 2021.

Reinhart began his career with the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver, initially as a defenseman before transitioning to a center. He then joined the Vancouver Northwest Giants of the BC Hockey Major Midget League (BCMML), where he excelled with 38 goals and 40 assists, helping the team win the 2010–11 BCMML championship and finishing fourth in the 2011 Telus Cup. Reinhart also shone in the 2011 Canada Winter Games, winning gold with the British Columbia U16 team. Moving on to junior hockey, Reinhart was selected 15th overall by the Kootenay Ice in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

He made an immediate impact, scoring the game-winning goal in his first WHL game and contributing to the Ice's Ed Chynoweth Cup championship team. Reinhart's standout performance in his first full WHL season earned him the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie. Eventually, he was named captain for the 2013-14 WHL season and showcased his skills in prestigious events like the Subway Super Series and the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

The following season, Reinhart finally made the Sabres roster and contributed a single assist in 9 games, which led him to returning Kootenay Ice that season. He made a strong combeck to the Sabres lineup in 2015-16, playing 79 games and making himself a regular before his trade to the Panthers in 2021.
