Alex Wennberg is a centre in the world of professional ice hockey, particularly in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he began his career with Djurgardens IF in Stockholm, Sweden before representing Sweden at international events like the U19 World Junior A Challenge and U18 World Junior Championship. At the same time, he was ranked as the fifth out of all European Skaters available prior to the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Wennberg was ultimately drafted and signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets on a three-year deal in 2014. He made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2014, eventually signing a six-year contract extension with them in 2017.

After a successful stint with the Blue Jackets, Wennberg joined the Florida Panthers in 2020, where he recorded a career-high 17 goals in the 2020-21 season. Following this, he signed a three-year contract with the Seattle Kraken in 2021 before being traded to the New York Rangers in March 2024.
