
Claude Giroux, born on January 12, 1998, is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was picked as the 22nd pick overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Before transitioning to the NHL, Giroux began his major junior career with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League(QMJHL), where he contributed to the team’s victory in the 2008 President’s Cup and earned the Guy Lafleur Trophy as the 2008 playoff MVP.
