Josh Jacobs is an American professional ice hockey player who plays defense for the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was born in Shelby Township, Michigan, United States, on Feb 15, 1996. Josh Jacobs began his hockey career in his hometown of Shelby Township, Michigan, playing for the Detroit Honeybaked U16 program in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. He was then selected by the Sarnia Sting in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, 72nd overall.

Josh's professional career began when he signed an entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils in 2019. Josh made his NHL debut in 2019 against the Boston Bruins at the Prudential Center. He signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2021. He spent the entire season with the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Josh then signed with the Colorado Avalanche on July 13, 2022. He played in 43 games for the Avalanche's AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles, in the 2022-23 season, scoring four goals and ten assists. He joined the St. Louis Blues on July 1, 2023, and in 2024 he left the Blues as a free agent. In the same year, he signed a one-year AHL contract with the Montreal Canadiens' affiliate Laval Rocket.
