
Born on October 27, 1995, in Germany, Leon Tim Draisaitl is a professional ice hockey center and serves as an alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was chosen as the second overall pick in the 2012 CHL Import Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders. Following two successful seasons with the Raiders, he was selected as the third overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Draisaitl signed a three-year entry-level contract with Edmonton on August 12, 2014, and had his NHL debut on October 9, 2014, against the Calgary Flames.
