Brittney Griner is a professional WNBA player who plays at the Center/Forward position for the Atlanta Dream as of January 2025. Griner is a 10-time WNBA All-Star, who has won a WNBA title with the Phoenix Mercury and won 2 Olympic Gold medals as well representing the USA. She was drafted 1st overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She showed her defensive prowess, by becoming the Defensive Player of the Year twice in a row (2014 and 2015).

She was the WBCA High School Player of the Year in 2009 and also became a McDonald’s All-American in the same year. She then went to Baylor University, to continue her collegiate career and dominated there as well, winning both the Naismith Player of the Year award and the Wade Player of the Year trophy in 2012 and 2013 as well. This was also the time when she won 2 John R. Wooden Awards in 2012 and 2013. Following her spectacular performances, she won the NCAA title with Baylor in 2012 and also became the only player to score 2000 points and 500 blocks.
