Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar’s father is a former Indian cricketer. He is known for scoring hundred centuries in international cricket and playing 200 Test matches. He is regarded by many as the greatest cricket player to have ever played the game.
Sachin Tendulkar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 24 April 1973. He completed his schooling at Shardashram Vidyamandir High School in Dadar, before making his cricket debut for India at the age of sixteen. He was the youngest Indian player ever to debut in both Test and ODI cricket. He made his highest score of 248 in a Test match against Bangladesh in 2004. Sachin also served as the captain of the Indian team during his career. He had played five Cricket World Cups before finally emerging as the champions of the 2011 Cricket World Cup. After playing for nearly 24 years, Sachin played his last match in November 2013, finishing an illustrious cricket career with a total of 34,357 runs scored, 200 wickets taken and 664 international appearances.
Sachin Tendulkar is the recipient of Arjuna, Khel Ratna, Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna awards. He was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Sachin was awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy and was later inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2019.

After Sachin Tendulkar saw his son warming the Mumbai Indian benches in the 2022 edition of the IPL, Sachin Tendulkar in an interview with Outlook India said, “And my conversation with Arjun has always been that the path is going to be challenging, it is going to be difficult. You started playing cricket because you are in love with cricket, continue to do so, continue to work hard and results will follow,”. These were some golden lessons given to his son, Arjun Tendulkar.

As Arjun Tendulkar did not get to play a single IPL match for the Mumbai Indians in 2022, he was consequently dropped from Mumbai's squad for the 2022 Ranji Trophy season. Following this, Sachin helped his son make a crucial decision to switch his domestic side from Mumbai to Goa. Sachin made a statement to Cricbuzz saying,”Getting maximum game time on the ground is important for Arjun at this juncture of his career. We believe that the shift will improve the probability of Arjun featuring in more competitive matches. He is embarking on a new phase of his cricketing career.”
