Umran Malik’s father’s name is Abdul Rashid. Umran’s father has always been a constant support through Umran’s formative years. He has backed his son’s aspirations to be a cricketer and always wanted him to make it big. Talking about his son, Rashid said in an interview to ESPNCricinfo that he never refused to buy equipment for Malik but he would also advise him to study a bit as well.

Umran Malik’s father is a fruit seller by profession and owns a vegetable and fruit shop in Jammu’s Gujjar Nagar. In an interview with Indian Express, Umran revealed about his family profession. “That (selling fruits) has been our family business since the past 70 years.”

“My grandfather, father, and uncle have been working on it. It is not that if I am playing for India, my father will stop working. My father always tells me that we will remain where we have risen from. I come from an average family. I feel very happy that I have made my father proud.”

Umran Malik’s father has a wife (name not known). Umran’s mother always cheered for his son and has been beside him through thick and thin. Umran Malik hails from a financially challenging background. Money never came on his way and his parents did their best to make ends meet. Even Umran’s coach Randhir Sahab never took fees.

Umran, in an interview, recalled that his mother would never stop her from playing even if he broke the glass windows. .

Apart from that, she is a very nice cook as well. While talking to Indian Express, the young pacer was all praise for his mother and her cooking skills. ‘It’s very delicious, come whenever you can and taste it,’ he said when asked about the kheer she cooks.
