Carolina Hurricanes star Sebastian Aho is a Finnish ice hockey player who hails from Rauma, Finland. Sebastian Aho began his playing career in his hometown of Rauma, Finland. He played for the youth teams of Oulun Kärpät before making his professional debut with Hurricanes in the 2013-14 season.

Sebastian quickly established himself as one of the top young players in Finland. He was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round, 35th overall, of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Sebastian made his NHL debut for the Hurricanes in the 2016-17 season. He had a strong rookie season, scoring 24 goals and adding 25 assists for 49 points.

Sebastian has continued to improve in each of his NHL seasons. He scored 29 goals in the 2017-18 season and 30 goals in the 2018-19 season. He also led the Hurricanes by scoring goals during both seasons. In the 2019-20 season, Sebastian scored 38 goals and added 28 assists for 66 points. He finished fourth in the NHL in scoring and was named to his first NHL All-Star Game.

Sebastian has remained one of the Hurricanes' top players in the past few seasons. He scored 57 points in the 2020-21 season and 81 points in the 2021-22 season. In the 2022-23 season, he scored 36 goals and 31 assists. After the season, Sebastian signed an 8-year, $78 million contract extension with Carolina Hurricanes. Sebastian will earn an average salary of $9.75 million through 2031–32.
