8:25 PM local (2:55 PM IST): The first part is done for the Renegades to find a place in the eliminators, courtesy of Jake Fraser-McGurk's terrific innings with eight sixes and five boundaries. They would now hope for the Hurricanes' win against the Stars in the last league game. That is it from this game as I, Keshav, on behalf of my co-commentator, Lavil, bid you a goodbye. For now you can tune into the game between the Adelaide Strikers and the Perth Scorchers, as the Renegades would be praying for a tight game.
Jake Fraser McGurk (Player of the Match, Melbourne Renegades): Great win, happy to turn up in the last game. Lovely to contribute and have the result go our way. Trying to make some things go out and charge at the bowlers. Cricket is a funny game, you are only two shots away from getting back. Thanks to the fans for coming out in numbers and supporting us
8:08 PM local time (2:38 PM IST): Melbourne Renegades win the game by three wickets and with twelve balls remaining. Melbourne Renegades: 199/7 (18 overs) | Brisbane Heat: 196/4 (20 overs)
Jake Fraser McGurk: 95 (46) | Paul Walter: 2/23 (4) Jack Wood: 45 (27) | Adam Zampa: 2/29 (4)
Jake Fraser McGurk was the man today to unleash havoc against the Heat and anchored the larger part of the innings. Brisbane Heat did not have any answers to McGurk's firepower hitting with his ability to create room even on what would otherwise be good deliveries. With this win, the Renegades have given their side a chance, however much depends on the result of the other two league games. They have moved among the teams qualifying for the playoffs but for how long, let's see.
Josh Brown gave a good start to his side with his offensive against the the Heat's frontline attack in the powerplay alongside Jake Fraser McGurk. The Heat bowlers were clueless against the youngster as he kept smacking outside the fence every now and then. Following, Brown's departure, one of the two debutants, Oliver Peake stood on one end and kept rotating strike to provide support to Jake. McGurk stood tall even as Spencer sent both Peake and Tim Seifert back to the pavilion on back-to-back deliveries.
Although, the Heat were able to dismiss McGurk but only after he dented their playoffs hopes. When he departed, the hosts required 16 runs from 21 balls. Will Sutherland also departed later in the over but the next two lower-order batters chased the target with two overs remaining to cruise the team in the red across the line.

17.6 Xavier Bartlett to Fergus O'Neill, FOUR! GAME, SET AND MATCH TO RENEGADES! Length delivery on the line of the off stump, Fergus comes charging down the track and thumps it over the bowler's head for a boundary to end the over and the chase. Melbourne Renegades beat Brisbane Heat by three wickets and end Heat's title defence
17.5 Xavier Bartlett to Fergus O'Neill, SIX! THAT SHOULD DO NICE! Full and on the middle and off stump, O'Neill hits that from the meat of the bat and ensures it sails all the way over the man in the deep and over the ropes for a maximum as well. Eight away from a win
17.4 Xavier Bartlett to Tom Stewart Rogers, length delivery outside the off stump. Rogers knocks it behind point for a single
17.3 Xavier Bartlett to Fergus O'Neill, length delivery outside the off stump. Played towards deep third for a single
17.2 Xavier Bartlett to Fergus O'Neill, too full from Bartlett. O'Neill hits it up in the air but it falls safe and the pair take a brace

This could be self-capitulation here from the Renegades. They have only Rogers as a recognised batter and all efforts could go down the drain if they fail to chase it down
16.6 Paul Walter to Fergus O'Neill, takes a single off the last ball
Fergus O'Neill, RHB, walks out to the middle
16.5 Paul Walter to Will Sutherland, WICKET!! back of a length delivery on the off stump, Will Sutherland smacks it to mid-wicket and he's caught there. Renegades could be in trouble here.
Will Sutherland c Xavier Bartlett b Paul Walter 13 (6b, 2x4, 0x6)
16.4 Paul Walter to Tom Stewart Rogers, length on the middle and leg and it is hit to square leg for a single
Tom Rogers, LHB, walks out to the middle and will be on strike
That must hurt like a punch in the gut. The crowd at Docklands had loud boos for Matt Renshaw turning soon into applause for their favourite
16.3 Paul Walter to Jake Fraser McGurk, WICKET!! WHATTA FABULOUS GRAB! length delivery on the off-stump, moving away from the batter, Jake hits it over mid-off but the shot lacks the power and is caught brilliantly in deep by Renshaw.
Jake Fraser-McGurk c Matt Renshaw b Paul Walter 95 (46b, 5x4, 8x6)
16.2 Paul Walter to Jake Fraser McGurk, a swing and a miss
