Michael Bracewell (captain, New Zealand): I said this the other day, the way we fought was impressive. The way Mitch played in the end was outstanding. It was pretty fun to go through the photos of the players before the game, and we checked how many games each one had played. The domestic games are in a strong position in New Zealand, and even though we do not have much experience, we have done well on the international stage. We have played well, and for us, it is about doing the simple things well and finishing on a high. Good to see him get a good run of games and get the performance. Outstanding to see guys working hard and giving the fans the result they wish for while getting what they deserve

Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan captain): "My arm is fine now, thanks! We didn't bat well. Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah batted really well and fought. But the batters were disappointing. These are tough conditions for batting yes, but we need to show better character. We lost the key moments with the ball. We didn't bowl well at the back-end and Mitchell Hay played magnificently. New Zealand know the conditions better of course, but we will try our best to win the next game."

Mitchell Hay (Player of the Match, 99* off 78 balls and 4 catches): "No the hundred did not cross by mind to be honest, just wanted the runs. Abbas and I talked about taking it deep, and that's what we did. Once we got going, the runs flowed. Always love to play for the Blackcaps and perform, both with the bat and with the keeping gloves."

What a game we have witnessed. While many expected this game to end quickly, Pakistan put on a fight till the end but were still comfortably short of what they desired to get. New Zealand beat Pakistan in the second game of the three-match ODI series and sealed the deal with one match yet to be played.

Pakistan was in trouble early on after they found themselves on 32/5 at one point. None of Babar, Rizwan, or Imam failed to step up to the task, and it looked as if Pakistan were going to be limited to only two digits. Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah stepped up to the task and did a fine job with the bat in hand. Naseem, who came in as a concussion substitute, did an excellent job for the Men in Green and scored a half century. However, they failed to keep going and were eventually bundled out.

It was a clinical performance with the ball in hand for New Zealand, however, they would have hoped that they could have ended the innings quicker. Ben Sears, who picked up his ODI wicket, converted that into a first five-wicket haul for him. Jacob Duffy also picked up three wickets while Nathan Smith and Will O Rourke also chipped in with a wicket each.

41.2 Ben Sears to Naseem Shah, THAT IS THE MATCH AND THE SERIES FOR NEW ZEALAND! SEARS GETS A FIFER. Good length around middle-stump. Naseem wanted to back away and carve it over cover but all he did is nick it through to the keeper to become the final wicket to fall today.

41.1 Ben Sears to Sufiyan Muqeem, round the wicket, AND DROPPED! Good length on middle-stump. Sufiyan backs away and miscues it high up. O'Rourke back-tracked from mid-on and failed to lay a finger on it! One run.

Great to see Naseem give it his all. He is striking the ball cleanly here and needs to continue going about in a similar fashion. Pakistan need 85 runs in 54 balls
