Weather won today but the caravan does not stop at the BBL. We move to the MCG tomorrow where it will be a clash between the top and the bottom with the Sydney Sixers taking on the Melbourne Stars. Make sure you join us for that, for now this is Sourabh taking your leave on behalf of Meeth and the entire team, see you soon!
20:32 Local Time (15:02 IST): There you go, the inevitable has happened, the match has been called off due to rain. It was always a matter of when rather than if with the relentless rain falling all over Sydney. There is a lot more rain on the radar and the umpires felt that should be enough to pull down the curtains. It was a tasty affair lined up with the top spot on the table in the offering for both the teams but the weather has played spoilsport and the points have been split. As a result, there are 3 teams on 9 points but Sixers continue to occupy the top spot by virtue of their superior run rate with Thunder and Hurricanes following them.
Karthik: "I want to play BBL so what do I have to do?" Not being an Indian citizen can be a starting point, Karthik
Nitin Tanwar: "I would love to see Sam Konstas tonight and seeing him smashing all around the park. In BGT, most of the Aussie Batsman were "Bumrah-ed" and if he's really a talent he will be scoring tonight. Waiting for some action." Think you'll have to wait for another day Nitin coz things ain't looking promising in Sydney with the umpires out for an inspection and there are umbrellas over their heads
20:06 Local Time (14:36 IST): An update from the ground - INSPECTION at 20:15 Local Time (14:45 IST)
Shekhar: "I wud say #SydneySixers Going to clinch dis BBL. Well balanced side and Plenty of firepower in the squad!!" The points table agrees with you, Shekhar.
Aravind: "I Want Adelaide Strikers To Win This BBL Because Of One Man My Favorite Cricketer In The World Chris Lynn." They need to do a lot of catching up, buddy.
Ryan: "I'm backing the Hurricanes to go all the way this time, they have been my favorite since the start and it is about time they lift the trophy now." Your team certainly looks up for it this time, Ryan.
19:30 Local Time (14:00 IST): There is steady rain at the moment and the covers are firmly in place. While we wait for the rain Gods to hopefully relent, let us know which team you are supporting in this BBL and why. Also, mention which team you would think would win the competition this time.
Abhishek Jadhav: "Hiiiii I am from India but I am really excited to watch the match soon." I'm afraid it is still raining, Abhishek, but let's keep our fingers crossed.
Jasprit Bumrah has captivated the minds of the Aussies with his out-of-the-world performance in the recently concluded BGT. Even the commentators in the BBL cannot help but mention about the Indian pacer who gave the Aussie batters sleepless nights. Here is one such instance 👇
Sam Konstas is not the only one who wants to play but there is also a 41-year old who came out of retirement a few days back and joined the Thunder squad. Head to the piece below to read all about it 👇
