Dylan Larkin is an American professional ice hockey player who as of January 2025, serves as the captain of the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. He was selected 15th overall by the Red Wings in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning professional, Larkin had a successful collegiate career at the University of Michigan, where he was named Freshman of the Year and earned spots on the All-Freshman Team, All-Big Ten First Team, and Second Team All-American.

Larkin's early hockey journey began with minor ice hockey at Detroit Belle Tire, where he also competed in the 2009 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. He later played for USA Hockey's U17 team in the National Team Development Program during the 2012–13 season, scoring 13 goals and 14 assists in 55 games. In the following season, he excelled with the U18 team, finishing with 31 goals and 56 points in 60 games. His performance led him to be ranked 17th among North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau ahead of the 2014 NHL Draft
