His stellar performance earned the attention of the NHL scouts which eventually led to him getting selected by Colorado Avalanche in the 3rd round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, Dunchene has played for multiple teams including the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, and now the Dallas Stars.
