Faf du Plessis (Jo'burg Super Kings captain): You are too of the world with a win like that. As a team you need these kind of wins. Look the previous game getting a wicket off the first ball of a no ball and to that again today is something special. That means he is right on the money and challenging the batters. From a bowling perspective even in the previous game we weren't far off. It was nice to get the results today. That's a sign of a team picking at a correct time. Two games ago our fielding wasn't great. You expect Conway to play like this. He kills you softly. Good cricket shots, takes his knife and works his way. The kind of player who anchors the innings. The pitch was a lot different. Glad that we will be in the Highveld for the next ten days.

Aiden Markram [Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain]: Tough day at the office for us, powerplay with the bat in hand, we were so far behind in the game, tough to get back into the game. We need to have individual conversations and see how we can get better. It's never nice, but it does happen, we have played enough cricket and these kind of performances hurt. Have to give credit to their bowlers, they bowled in the right areas. Fortunately yes, humbling day for us, but we need to pick ourselves up for Cape Town and look forward to put up a good game of cricket there.

Lutho Sipamla is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Really good start, be glad to be able to contribute, it was fun. I'm just trying to keeping it simple to be honest with you, worked on my plans and executed in the middle. It's not nice to get injuries in the camp, but it's an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. It's nice to have such great players, such coaching staffs, you learn from these guys always, take it all in.

It turned out to be a rather straightforward run chase for the Jo’burg Super Kings as they defeated the Sunrisers by 9 wickets and with deliveries to spare. In the process, they also bagged the bonus point which would come in handy during the qualification process. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowlers started well with Marco Jansen and Richard Gleeson not conceding too many runs in the powerplay.

Faf du Plessis tried to cut loose in the final powerplay over and found a couple of boundaries before top edging a short of a length delivery from Beyers Swanepoel straight down the throat of the deep midwicket fielder. The wicket ignited hopes of SEC to make a comeback but the pair of Devon Conway and Wihan Lubbe had other ideas. Conway in particular started cutting loose post the powerplay and kept finding boundaries on a consistent basis.

Lubbe played a good supporting act and remained unbeaten on 25 with three fours and a six. Conway was the aggressor and played atleast three to four exquisite extra cover drives. His unbeaten knock of 76 came in just 56 deliveries which included 11 fours and 3 sixes. It will be a massive boost for them in order to qualify through to the final four. Low full toss on the off-stump, Lubbe nudged it with soft hands to wide long-on and they scamper through for a couple to seal the deal.
