Devontez "Tez" Walker, commonly known as Devontez Walker, is an American football wide receiver who plays for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL as of the 2024 NFL season. The 23-year-old (as of January 2025) finished his rookie season by appearing in nine games for the team, catching one pass for 21 yards, as per Pro Football Reference. Before deciding to transition to the NFL, Walker had represented the University of North Carolina, playing one year for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Before joining North Carolina, he attended Kent State University from 2021 to 2022. However, his first stop in college came at North Carolina Central University, where unfortunately, due to the then-pandemic COVID-19 situation, he did not receive any playing time due to the FCS season getting canceled.
Notably, as a two-time transfer, Walker faced a transfer dispute in 2023 when he decided to transfer to the University of North Carolina as the NCAA denied his immediate eligibility. However, the decision was later reversed (via ESPN). Walker piled up almost 700 receiving yards in just 8 games during the 2023 season (via Sports Reference). Throughout his collegiate career, he secured a spot on the 2022 First-team All-MAC and the 2023 Third-team All-ACC. Additionally, he was also invited to the 2024 Senior Bowl.
