After finishing high school, he committed to playing college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks at the University of Arkansas. Concluding his collegiate career, he entered the 2019 NFL Draft, where the 49ers selected him as the 148th overall pick in the fifth round. Subsequently, he signed a four-year rookie contract with the team valued at $2.84 million, including a signing bonus of $321,716, a guaranteed amount of $321,716 and an average annual salary of $710,429.
