The New Orleans Saints is a professional American football team that plays in New Orleans, Louisiana while competing in the NFL in its NFC South division. Since the retirement of Drew Brees and the departure of Sean Payton, New Orleans has found it difficult to stay relevant. The Saints are neither in the position to win an SB nor in a position where the wheels completely fall off. Their quarterback Derek Carr who was signed last year has not a single playoff win on his resume while Dennis Allen has yet to take a team to the playoffs in his coaching stints (Raiders and Saints). 2024 is a do-or-die year for both Carr and especially Allen, as no playoff appearance will almost guarantee both or either one of them getting replaced in New Orleans.

Derek Carr is the unquestioned starter under center with Haener/Rattler or both waiting in the wings. The do-it-all back in Alvin Kamara will be once again seen spearheading the ground attack while Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau form one of the better tight end tandem in the league. The wide receiver room which now consists of Chris Olave, Perry and speedster Rashid Shaheed did get a big setback in the offseason when the team released longtime veteran Michael Thomas. The Saints' offensive line which was ranked dead last by PFF going into the 2024 season will not see the services of their star tackle Ryan Ramczyk for an entire season. The group that consists of McCoy, Ruiz and 3rd-year player Penning will expect rookie Fuaga to hit the ground running to improve the protection in front of Carr.

Dennis Allen’s side of the ball will see Shepherd, Saunders and Breese clog up the running lane in the interior while the team's all-time sack leader Cameron Jordan, Granderson and Young wreak havoc from the edge. Werner and Davis return to form the starting linebacker duo with Willie Gay most probably as their backup. The team whose passing defense ranked top 10 in 2023 (via FOX Sports) did keep most of the secondary pieces intact. Lattimore and Adebo along with Taylor and rookie McKinstry most certainly lock the top 4 cornerback spots while the safety duo Mathieu and Abram serve as the last line of defense. Grupe, Hedly and Wood round out the special team members.

Dennis Allen, who has been with the Saints since 2015, will be entering his 3rd year as the head coach. Klint Kubiak will be the new OC in 2024 while Joe Woods will be returning for his second year as a DC.
